Places to visit in Karnataka - Sachin Naik Favorites

Karnataka with diverse culture and with a mix of fascinating charm attracts travelers and tourist across the world. The state is packed with many tourist attractions that include ancient shrines, temples and forts remnants of glorious past, lush green landscape, rich heritage, wildlife, culture, beaches, and a variety of tourist places.

Sravanabelagola

It is considered as the top destination for Jain pilgrims and the most popular religious and tourist spot in Karnataka. The statue of Gommateshwara found here is the Asia's tallest monolithic statue, which measures about 17.38 meters.

Srirangapatna

It is famed as one of the tourist spot that is famous for Ranganathaswamy temple, Gumbaz, Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, and Sri Rangapatnam fort. The city was also capital Mysore during the rule of Tipu Sultan. It’s an egg-shaped island surrounded by river Kaveri and legends say that Lord Buddha has visited and stayed in this island.

Belur
Belur is celebrated for temples like Chennakesava Temple of Lord Vishnu and Kappe Chennigraya, which are well renowned for architecture and carvings like Darpana Sundari (beautiful lady with a mirror) that are of historical importance.

Aihole

This village was once the capital city of Chalukya dynasty; Aihole houses about hundred temples and is known as the cradle of Indian temple architecture. It is a popular tourist spot in Karnataka with group of temples like the Kontigudi group, the Galaganatha group of temples, Lad Khan Temple, Ravanaphadi Temple Durga Temple, and Suryanarayana Temple Huchappayyagudi Temple, and many others.

Chikmagalur

    1. Recently i visited Madikeri. Every picture is looking like scenery. Nature climate in that area is so refreshing. It is like a eye feast to the visitors.

    2. Sun raise in the nandi hills is the beautiful spot. All the age people enjoy in the environment of nandi hills. As it is very nearer to Bangalore, For Bangaloreans this might be a great choice to their weekend plan.

  2. Across Bangalore only there are so many tourist places like Nandi hills and Skandagiri. Bangalore known as the garden city of india. Karnataka is mainly covered with hills and water falls and temples which made Karnataka as a tourist place.

  3. The culture of people from North Karnataka is fully different from South Karnataka. All over India People are likely to visit and stay in Bangalore which is the capital of Karnataka.

  4. Hi Sachin that's a great post with some natural pictures. Chikmalguru is the finest among all, specially in the months of December and January. At the time that area will be fully covered with Fogg and snow.

  7. After kerala, Karnataka is the best tourism location in India. Udipi and the Manga lore beaches are attracting the foreigners also. Nandi Hills which is 70KM far from Bangalore is my Favorite spot.
