Karnataka with diverse culture and with a mix of fascinating charm attracts travelers and tourist across the world. The state is packed with many tourist attractions that include ancient shrines, temples and forts remnants of glorious past, lush green landscape, rich heritage, wildlife, culture, beaches, and a variety of tourist places.
Sravanabelagola
It is considered as the top destination for Jain pilgrims and the most popular religious and tourist spot in Karnataka. The statue of Gommateshwara found here is the Asia's tallest monolithic statue, which measures about 17.38 meters.
Srirangapatna
It is famed as one of the tourist spot that is famous for Ranganathaswamy temple, Gumbaz, Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, and Sri Rangapatnam fort. The city was also capital Mysore during the rule of Tipu Sultan. It’s an egg-shaped island surrounded by river Kaveri and legends say that Lord Buddha has visited and stayed in this island.
Belur is celebrated for temples like Chennakesava Temple of Lord Vishnu and Kappe Chennigraya, which are well renowned for architecture and carvings like Darpana Sundari (beautiful lady with a mirror) that are of historical importance.
Aihole
This village was once the capital city of Chalukya dynasty; Aihole houses about hundred temples and is known as the cradle of Indian temple architecture. It is a popular tourist spot in Karnataka with group of temples like the Kontigudi group, the Galaganatha group of temples, Lad Khan Temple, Ravanaphadi Temple Durga Temple, and Suryanarayana Temple Huchappayyagudi Temple, and many others.
Chikmagalur
This town is a picturesque destination with lofty peaks, racing rivers, sparkling streams and waterfalls. This place is perfect retreat for everyone like adventure seekers, pilgrims, and research enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy the serene and scenic waterfalls of Kalhatagiri, Hebbe, Sirimane, Manikyadhara, and Shanti. This place is also famous for Muthodi and Bhadra forests that are popular among tourists. Some of the prominent pilgrim destinations are Horanadu, Balehonnur, Kalasa, and Sringeri.
Bandipur National Park
Take break from your daily life and explore the jungles Bandipur, which is home to flora and fauna, elephants, gray langurs, Indian vultures, etc. and enjoy the fresh breath of green and a ride on elephants and much more.
Madikeri
Madikeri is a famous hill station town in Karnataka. Some of the hotspot that’s not to be missed is Raja Seat – a small square mantapa in brick and mortar of four pillars, Madikeri Fort, Omkareshwara Temple and many others.

ReplyDeleteAfter kerala, Karnataka is the best tourism location in India. Udipi and the Manga lore beaches are attracting the foreigners also. Nandi Hills which is 70KM far from Bangalore is my Favorite spot.
